Day view: one column per barber
The day view is organised by barber. Each column represents one barber’s schedule, laid out over time. This makes it easy to spot which barbers are loaded, where the gaps are, and who can take a reschedule.
Reading appointment cards
Appointment cards usually include:
- Customer name
- Service (which implies length)
- Barber (the column you’re in)
- Sometimes status flags like checked-in or cancelled
If a card looks too short or too long for the service, double-check the selected service — it’s often the root cause of schedule blowouts.
Clicking an appointment for details
Clicking a card opens details where you can:
- edit customer details,
- change service type,
- reassign the barber,
- cancel, or
- check the customer in when they arrive.
Unassigned appointments column
Some setups include an Unassigned column. This is useful when you want to capture a booking without committing to a barber (e.g., “any barber is fine”). Later, you can assign it to balance the day.
Navigating between days
Use the date picker or next/previous controls to jump to another day. If you’re taking calls, it’s often faster to keep one hand on the keyboard and use quick date jumps.
Practical workflow for a busy day
- Start the day by scanning each barber column for gaps and overloads.
- Add blocks for last-minute changes (sick day, late arrival).
- As customers arrive, check them in so barbers see them in the queue.
- If the day is blowing out, reassign a few appointments to reduce red wait-time periods.
