What you’ll need
Walk-in check-in is designed to be fast. In most shops, you’ll enter your name and mobile number. The number helps staff identify you and contact you if you’re outside.
Step-by-step: joining the queue
- Head to the kiosk. It’s usually near the counter or entry.
- Select your service. Choose the service that best matches what you want today (Haircut, Fade, Beard Trim, etc.). Picking the right service helps the shop estimate wait times.
- Choose a preferred barber (optional). If you pick a barber, you’ll join their line. If you leave it open, the system may route you to the next available barber.
- Enter your name and phone. Double-check spelling so staff can call you easily.
- Confirm to join. You’ll see a queue screen straight away.
What the queue position screen shows
After you check in, Cutline will show a summary like:
- Your position (for example: “3rd in line”)
- Estimated wait based on current services and typical service durations
- Status (Waiting / In Service / Done)
- Your barber (if you selected one)
How long will the wait be?
The estimate is a guide, not a guarantee. Wait time changes when:
- a service runs longer than usual,
- a barber goes on break,
- an appointment checks in and is fitted into the schedule, or
- someone is marked as a no-show.
The good news: the estimate updates as the queue moves, so you can make smarter decisions while you wait.
If you leave and come back
Most shops are fine with you stepping outside — just keep an eye on your position and be ready when you’re close. If you’re leaving the area for a while, it’s a good idea to let staff know.
If the shop can’t reach you when it’s your turn, you may be marked as a no-show and your spot may be given to the next customer. If that happens, come back to the counter — staff can usually help you rejoin.
