Viewing appointments on the calendar
The calendar is the source of truth for bookings. Use it to see today’s load, spot gaps, and adjust staffing. For a detailed guide, see Using the Calendar View.
Creating a new appointment (on behalf of a customer)
- Select the day and barber (or the unassigned column, if available).
- Choose a time slot and click Create / New appointment.
- Enter customer details (name, phone) and select the service.
- Save to confirm the booking.
Always choose the correct service length. Booking a Fade into a Haircut slot causes knock-on delays and customer frustration.
Reassigning an appointment
If a barber calls in sick or you need to rebalance the day, you can reassign an appointment to a different barber. Usually this is done by opening the appointment details and selecting a new barber.
If the customer booked a specific barber, communicate the change before you move it. Good service beats a “surprise reassignment”.
Cancelling an appointment
Open the appointment, choose Cancel, and confirm. This frees the slot and updates availability. If your shop policy requires it, make a note of the reason.
Checking in a customer when they arrive
Check-in turns a booking into a live queue item so barbers can action it. Common flow:
- Find the appointment on the calendar.
- Open details and click Check In.
- The customer is added to the queue (often with an appointment marker).
If the customer arrives early, you can still check them in — but keep the queue fair around the scheduled time.
Operational tips
- Check in appointments promptly so barbers see them in time.
- Use blocks for lunch to prevent accidental bookings.
- If you’re running behind, consider short-term changes (reassign, add a barber, or adjust walk-in routing).
