Weekly schedules (the default pattern)
Barber availability is a weekly template: the hours a barber is normally working each day. You’ll set this in the admin portal under Availability, usually in a barber-specific view.
How barber hours differ from store hours
Store hours define when the shop is open. Barber hours define when a specific barber is available. A barber can start later, finish earlier, or have different days off — all while the shop remains open.
The booking page shows slots that are within both store hours and the selected barber’s hours.
Setting a barber’s weekly schedule
- Select the barber you want to edit.
- For each day, set start and end times (or mark them unavailable for that day).
- Save changes.
If your shop does staggered starts, this is where you model that — it prevents overbooking and improves wait-time accuracy.
What happens when barber hours are shorter than store hours
Customers can still book the shop during store hours, but they won’t see times for a barber who is unavailable. This is normal and expected.
Example
If the shop is open 9:00–17:00 but Jordan works 10:00–18:00, Jordan will only show slots 10:00–17:00 (or whatever overlaps). For the 9:00 hour, customers can book other barbers who start earlier.
Best practices
- Set weekly availability first, then add blocks for one-off changes.
- Keep display names consistent so customers can recognise their preferred barber.
- Review availability after adding new staff or changing store hours.
